Modding a old Nikon

Hi all,
I have a Nikon D70s, which is pretty much worthless now. I am thinking of modding it for AP use. I read in a couple of old thread (2009 vintage) that people have done it. But I want to know the advantage of modding the camera v adding IR/Skyglow filters onto the T adapter.
Are there any IIS members in Melbourne that can assist if I want to mod? I will take your advice re what to get etc.
Thanks
Bo

I'd take a look at these two guides:
http://astrosurf.com/buil/d70/ircut.htm
http://www.lifepixel.com/tutorials/i...nikon-d70-d70s

I followed the lifepixel one and had no trouble.

nice result here of Orion

Thanks Peter,
Did you get the IR filter from them, or did you get it locally?
