I’m new to this webside and would appreciate if someone could help me.
For last few weeks I have been searching for Mintron MTV-13V1 or 12VHAD
CCD camera. No one seems to sell it here in Australia. EyeSpyWorld used
to have it (13V1) but they don’t stock it any more. Allthings in Adelaide have some clone of Mintron called GEM, but it got inferior specifications and is more
expensive then Mintron. Couple shops got colour Mintrons, that I don’t want. And that’s about it as far I could find. I’m currently use Mintron 65D which is great camera for its age (about 8 years old and only 2 bad pixels) but it is only good for the Moon and planets. I also tried Philips ToUCam and found it pretty useless, mainly because fiddly nature of the software and it got so many bad pixels that it look like someone shot it with shotgun.
If someone knows where to buy one of those cameras ( preferably 13V1, because of budget), please let me know.
Alternatively, if someone got one of those for sale I would consider buying used one.

If you're patient you can wait for a stellacam ex to come up on astromart - the sort without the control box - mintron, mallincam etc. - I've seen them go for within your budget.
Excuse my ignorance here, but the Mintron is a 600 line TV camera? So does that mean the maximum vertical resolution of an image from that camera will be 600 pixels? Is that the way it translates?
Hi
Mintron MTV13-V1C CCD chip got 795 x 596 pixels. Highest resolution on computer monitor is 720 x 576. How do you translate this to TV lines, well I don't know.
If the camera has composite out for the video, the resolution you get from the camera is max 600 pixels high or the limit of the video capture card that the camera is plugged into.
