SSAG malfunction

Last night I was guiding in the West, then decided to go East, I slewed over, and because my SSAG was still plugged in and looping, I used force calibrate to re-calibrate on an Eastern Star. It worked for a few minutes, then stopped completely. I unplugged everything and tried again- this time I got a "this USB device is not recognised by windows" message', then a this device is faulty, try pressing the re-load driver icon, if that fails then your device is malfunctioning etc"
I was happily using PHD before this for a few months-same camera, same leads, same version of software, same computer.
Any bright ideas?
Graham

Not sure whether you have already tried this, but try switching USB cables - I have had several flaky ones that will work intermittently, and even one that would work with everything BUT my QHY5. Go figure. Is it connected through a hub or anything, or just straight into the PC?

Basically suspect everything, then if no luck try the camera on another PC, reload drivers, you can even try restoring windows to a date that you know was good (just be careful with any software you have updated/loaded recently as you will lose them)

Mine has done something similar - though I managed to get it working again by reloading the ascom drivers and PHD.
Now it doesn't seem to guide well at all. I've not tried replacing the cable, or anything else. Though I have checked the mount for problems.
My RA guiding is awful and it was ace before.

That's interesting Jenchris- my guiding was spot on last week but before this happened I noticed drift and difficulty keeping on a star-the mount hasn't changed since last time.
I will reload drivers and check USB etc

Well I reloaded the latest version of PHD and the drivers- no joy, wouldn't recognise the camera at all. Tried another USb lead-same, then re-loaded an earlier version of PHD 1.11 I think, and it worked.
I am mystified why it stopped working mid session then needed all this to get it to work again
