comet 78p/gehreis

for you comet lovers,as garrad has gone below the trees for me.found this comet in pisces at around mag 12.4 visable with no apparent tail or overly bright nucleus at 102 and 136 times.position is::::

r.a 23h26m54s - dec+01deg39'18"
for you with clear skies and a good size scope..

nice shots terry...as i had seen it just a faint smudge with a little brightening..

Hi Pete, I observed the comet with the 16" 0n monday night, Small round brighter in the middle, no tail. eyepieces used 17mm nagler and 13mm nagler.
Given mag at around mag x12.
No observing for the last two nights as it is cloudy .

thanks ron i had another look last night and i could not see a tail still just a small haze with a slightly brighter core or centre....
i was using my sky safari pro with the new scope and getting the feel of the programme and how it was working with the scope when i was on the skull nebulae and noticed the comet in the vicinity 2 or 3 nights prior....
