Hey guys.
So its been a while since I've had anything to do with Astro stuff. Ive been OS for 6 months and since been back I've been unemployed (end game for astrophotography haha) until a few weeks ago I've picked up some work finally.
So now that I know I wont be having a holiday for a while I thought I better invest in some more gear for my setup as to get the most out of the new moon weekends. Before I left I really had a basic setup...HEQpro ed80 and a hand me down spotting scope I used for manually guiding (Thanks MB

) - film days style haha. I must admit it was fun, good to see what it was like for the poor buggers before all of this automation. Heres one I took of ETA Carina with the setup:

and Tarantula:

But yeah its almost certainly time to step it up a level. What I want to do is get really comfortable with my setup so when the time comes (and it will) I can just slap on a much better scope and go from there. Obviously ccd is optimal for camera but I do a lot of terrestrial work too and I just cant justify the price...yet
So I've got a laptop sorted. I was just wondering I could get some advice on (and where to buy!):
- Guidescope/guiding camera setup - dont want to be ripped off.
- Heating gear
- Focusing - pretty sure I want to replace the piece of junk thats on the ed80
- EOS Clip in Filters? And which ones essential (get more detailed data?)
- And thoughts on power supply - i have one rechargeable but thinking Ill need some more + inverter for all this electronics haha
- Focal reducer?
Let me know if im missing anything. Thanks heaps everyone in advance!
