The seeing played some tantalising games today, offering fleeting moments of quite exceptional clarity in between the background noise of high frequency jiggling pixels on the notebook display.
By starting the recording when the image became quite stable and then pausing during the wobbly bits, I managed to accumulate an AVI of some 2000 frames from which I harvested the best 250 or so using AVIStack V1.8.
We hit 32° C today – a hot day for this time of the year!
Blimey that is so detailed, you certainly played a wise game of wait and grab. Avistack 1.8 is still the best for detail extraction which shows here. The best I have seen for detail, outstanding Dennis. Yes its getting hotter, hope seeing will improve too.
Good morning Dennis
That is a awesome image - so much detail in it!
Thanks!!!
Thanks Matt!
I grabbed a few AVI’s this morning around 9:00am before the seeing became too variable again. I had to expose for double the value compared to yesterday, just to punch through that horrible smoke haze. The seeing was slightly more sustained today so less of a need to stop/start and harvest.
The forecast is for 33° C today, so I’ve packed up and come indoors as my neck is too red and the seeing has definitely dropped off now.
Wow ! I don't think I've ever seen white light images as good as these. I was considering a white light conversion with my FSQ. This makes me interested in working on this even more.
Thank you Mike – I appreciate the opportunity to share my results with the Ice In Space community via the Forum, as well as through the built-in enhancements such as IOTW.
Thank you Jeanette, Derek, Paul, Mike, Marc, Trevor and Darrin, I appreciate all your kind words. I will offer a silent prayer to the gods of good seeing tonight, in recognition of their predominant role and contribution to the success of these types of images.
Wow thats just stunning Dennis. It looks like an image from the Swedish Solar Telescope. It's so crisp and detailed, one of the best white light images I have seen.
It's been too long since I looked through my Baader filter, I haven't made one to fit my new scope yet. But this image is very inspiring, thanks.
