Famous people who have been seen with me...

Hi everyone!

Well the last three APPEA (a petroleum organisation) conferences I've been to, some companies have had sportsmen on their booths as a promotion. In 2010 Luke Powers, ex-Lions AFL player, was at the conference. Last year in Perth James O'Connor was there and this year in Adelaide there was Greg Blewett.

But these weren't the only lucky sportsmen to have been seen with me! I've checked into a hotel at the same time as Bobby Simpson, shared a urinal with Simon Poidevin and did some uni subjects with Wayne Pearce. Geoff Lawson laughed at me while I was batting in the nets at UNSW (alright I did have a broken arm and was using a leg pad to protect the cast, but still no reason to laugh!).

Yes all these sportsmen were lucky enough to have been seen with me!!

I've attached a couple of images - note how happy they seem!!

Cheers,
Mario

PS There are no pictures of me with Simon Poidevin in case you are worried!!!

I don't have pictures but I served a cheese platter to Peter(Gidday)Russel(Gidday)Clark and I served a meal to George Harrison when I worked on Hamilton Island while he lived there in his home.

No photographic evidence of the lucky chaps with me, but Rolf Harris sat next to me on the train in the UK. He'd been in Pomme land too long as he was pale as.

The other was Patrick Moore at the naming ceremony of a ship I had been involved in in a safety role. Nice of him to ask for my autograph

Who?

Everyone knows you of course, but who are all those other guys? I mean, come on, talk about scraping the bottom of the unknowns barrel! After all, if they're not famous in New Zealand, they're not famous.

Oops, forgot to mention I played Wii Beach Volleyball with the (probable) Australian Women's Olympic Beach Volleyball side of Louise Bawden and Becchara Palmer at APPEA (they're sponsored by Beach Energy) in Adelaide. How could I forget that!!!

It's a hard job but I do it with a smile!

If you ever see a little album call 'Blues in a Morris Minor' it contain 7 min of outtakes of Tom Baker (aka Dr Who) doing commercial voice overs. Talk about language warning. Let's just say Tom was not impressed with the product but even less impressed with the script writer. ['They might be big on dreams but they're *^&%ing mean with commas and full-stops.']

PS famous people don't come near me.

I assume he didn't have to ask "where's the cheese?"

Now he was pure entertainment - an all-round entertainer. I am sure he would have been 'the life of the party'.

I still listen to some of his songs - The Court of King Caractacus is a song that I don't mind when it is stuck in my head.
