A quick 60min star trail set on 100ASA & f8...

Could be better, noise reduction was off but what can I say... Digital, I can do it again & again and see the results straight away.

You've also got the LMC too.

Which camera and lens did you use?
Another way is to take shorter exposures and stack them all, this will improve the sky background.

Edit: I just read your sig, I assume you used the 350D.
