After a week travelin' southern US through Hawaii and Sydney, I finally got my hands on my Celestron Nexstar 8SE. One year old scope, but came with the Celestron branded Pelican hard case. First pics below, somehow, I managed to score a Fastar compatible OTA, guess it's not a bad thing.
The OTA looks brand new and the mirrors clean. Phew.
Will give it a workout once I set up and the clouds clear (why is it that there is ALWAYS rain and cloud when you want to drag out your scope?).
The only gripe at the moment is that I am still waiting for my tripod and accessories which are in a separate carton, the courier said it's coming, so he knows about it, but why didn't they put them into the same truck???
