I don't know why, but I've never imaged these before.

Anyways, here's my first effort, and probably the last using the ED80. It's a lovely scope, but I want DETAIL!! Not fuzzy smudges.
26x6min @ ISO 800
darks and flats used
stacked in DSS and processed in CS3.

As requested, a more saturated version has been added.

Very nice work JJJ. Maybe some more saturation to bring out the colours.

Nicely done JJ. Given the image scale I think you have some nice detail there. I would agree with Paul. Maybe a touch more saturation would look good.

Hmmm... I am going to image just this group on the wekend (weather gods willing). Very nice, but your fov through the ed 80 must be larger than that?

I added a full size shot for comparison. Good luck with the weather though.

I'm leaning towards a WO, possibly the 132mm triplet, though I'm not sure if my mount would really be up to the weight. Otherwise I'll settle for the 120mm doublet.

After having a go at this object recently with the 120 ED, I think you've produced a great image there JJJ. Not the easiest target to get good data from.

You can always use the ED80 as a guide scope for your long FL future. That is my intention for my 80 triplet

There's been a couple 132 scopes around and cheap compared to what they were when I bought mine, either way bigger scope = more detail
