(yet another) Jupiter + Europa this morning

Ok, so after reading Mike & Roberts threads I now know this was Europa... I started watching at about 4am when the transit shadow was fully visible but the seeing didn't really steady for another 30 minutes so I ended up only just capturing it.

Got a few more videos to look through, but this is a pretty good result.

regards, Bird

edit: oops I attached the wrong image. Fixed now

Wow, that's nice!

What would you say your seeing was at the time of capture?

Hi Asi, about as good as it gets in Canberra - maybe a 6 or 7 out of 10, there was a lot
of turbulence evident somewhere up up and away... We had some storms come through late yesterday and even though the sky was clear I'm not sure it was particularly good for astronomy.

Still it was nice to at least *see* the stars again for a change... :-)

Awesome stuff Anthony, great result and I just can't get over how big it is.

So much going on on this "boring" side of Jupiter at the moment. Huge white ovals and a very turbulent EQ zone.

What an awesome image Anthony, so much detail and rich colours, not to mention the large image scale. Congrats on an excellent capture and first class processing.

Cheers

cheers,
Robert, I'm using a 5x powermate with the top end removed and my filter wheel
and a 50mm extension tube screwed on there instead, moving the camera back far enough for it to be a 6x powermate. The focal length of the scope is 1820mm, so this gets me to just about 11m all up.

regards, Bird
