Question on StarryNight Pro cable

Just a quick question as to whether the software comes with the RS-232 cable or if this has to be purchased separately. Also to confirm that it is a RS-232 that goes from the laptop to the telescope (a Meade ETX125 in my case) and finally does the Mac version have the tracking feature, as I am not aware of many newer Macs having a RS-232 port.

Hi Chrissara.

The software doesnt' come with the cable. The cable I had ran from serial (laptop) to RS-232 (meade). If you don't have a serial port on your laptop then I guess you'll need a usb/serial converter cable.

If you want to take the easy way out as I did, give the Bintel boys a ring. Yes you'll probably pay more for what is fairly standard equipment, but if you are like me and tend towards technology neanderthalism then they are a god send. (I must admit though I'm getting better I'm at about homo erectus level atm)
