AAA bans TLAs on IIS after CME thread confusion

As PE (President-Elect, not periodic error) of the AAA (Abolish Acronyms Australia) I wish to inform you that our recent on-line VOMIT (Vote of Members by Information Technology) resulted in all AAAAs (Associates of ... ) agreeing to PM (private message) all IIS (Ice in Space) members informing them of a ban on using not only TLAs, but also SLAs, DLAs and QLAs. ('SLA' in this context means single-letter-acronyms, not sealed lead-acid batteries. Similarly 'TLA' refers to the triple-versions of SLAs, not Transient Lunar Anomalies.)

Penalties for contravening the MORT (moratorium on reduced text) will apply as determined by PUMs (paid-up members) at our September AGM (Annual General Meeting), DV (Deo volante).

Arthur Smirke (Prof), FAAA, MIIS, MCN, TAE, RATFCE.

The next stage is to find 'nested' acronyms. Working for IBM our Support Centre was the ISC. The first letter was for IBM. Later, one of my Wholesale Distributers in Adelaide was BMS Technology, The 'B' was for BBC.

Or recursive. GNU (gnu is not unix) and WINE (wine is not an emulator) come to mind.
