Some Sunday Sun, 24 July 2011

Hi all

It has been awhile since I have taken any solar images but I was able to get in a few hours early this afternoon.

Conditions were OK so I decided to try and get some prom images (I am relatively unsuccessful with these).

Image 1 - AR 1259

Image 2 - Prominence on the south west limb over about one hour (from 12.20pm local time)

Lunt60/Ha Single Stacked, 2.5 Powermate and DMK31 - processed in Registax.

Hope you like!

Hi John

I use a Lunt60mm / Hydrogen Alpha / single stacked scope. It is the pressure tuned model with feather touch focussing.

Nice Matt. Anymore to come? Lots of spot activity. Nice prominence too. I saw this one on SDO but it had stood up by the time I imaged it.
