Lagoon Nebula NGC 6523

Hi everyone,
Funny how you revisit your old images and realise your last effort was rather woeful! After waiting for a nice crisp night I managed to capture NGC 6523, Messier 8 in Sagittarius.

Details:
Low res image uploaded!
8" Newtonian Astrograph.
2 minute subs x 20, Master Dark and Flat. no bias.
Pentax K-x @ 1600 iso.
Unguided with a NEQ6pro.
Processed with DSS, PS CS2.
Your opinion and criticism is more than welcome
Best Regards Paul.
Note: image reprocessed with Jase's suggestions. Tnx heaps.
Paul.

Data is black clipped Paul, as such you've lost details in the shadows. The strong magenta hue is due to a heavily clipped green channel. Keep an eye on the histogram to improve upon this. Keep at it.

Hi Paul,

As Jase said, there are colour isuues that you can easily fix.

However, your photo has very good detail, is sharp and your tracking looks very good....I think you have the "harder" aspects under control.
This has the makings of a very good photo.

Thanks.

Ross.
