Exclamation Unbelievable old adds

These advertisments really show how much the world has changed. I am surprised there isn't one saying how good asbestos is.

Those attitudes were typical of everywhere, but those adds are also typically American as well.

Here you go, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=47kMfYQY0HI . The person who upload this inserted a few warnings into the video.

Ya got to love them. Boy have times changed and attitudes to advertising. You would be locked up today for spruking such things.

I do like the sanitized tape worms though and another case of beer for mother. Can I quote this add and get cigars at this price?

Gotta laugh.

Enjoyed very much, even my wife had a good laugh.

Even though it is gross, the tapeworm add is probably the only one that is valid. There are some health benefits to worms but I don't think I'm going to start to use them.

They could make a sell a gun for $85 dollars the same gun now comes in at over $500

Gay cruise could be the "Love Boat"

Most Dr's smoked Camel, I remember going to a Dr once and he smoked like a chimney also you should see the number of nursing staff puffing away outside hospitals, you'd think they'd all know better

Well apparently you don't have to practice what you preach because a GP had a go at me (and rightly so) for a bit high cholestrol readings couple of years ago and I clearly remember she was short and obese. I couldn't help thinking, wow!... reality check mate.

If I gave my wife a Hoover for Christmas, it would probably have to be surgically removed on Boxing day.

I own a Kenwood Chef (a hand me down). It looks like the same model and it still works. Mum burnt out 2 motors in a Mixmaster making butter before Dad bought her the Kenwood Chef.

Brighter than a thousand suns

The Oak Ridge National Laboratory in Tennessee was built in 1943 as part
of the Manhattan Project to produce fissionable quantities of uranium and
plutonium for the A-bombs.

The associated consortium of universities known as ORAU - Oak Ridge
Associated Universities - houses a museum of radioactive quack cures
which you can find out more about here -
http://www.orau.org/ptp/collection/q...quackcures.htm

For example, you can find a picture of the packaging and advertisement
for Vita Radium Suppositories, which were manufactured in the 1930's, here -
http://www.orau.org/ptp/collection/q...res/radsup.htm

Brings new meaning to the term "radioactive pile".

I'm replying to this post in the hope that you are still alive. Good luck with the kitchen appliance removal surgery.

The authenticity of that particular one would have to be in question unless
someone uncovered a source magazine it appeared it. It was most likely
created as a spoof.

A quick Google search reveals there is no West Hart Avenue in Chicago that I could find.
The nearest W Heart Ave appears to be 46 miles away in Beach Park, Illinois and is the
location for Pineview Cemetery, which may have been a clue.

A Google search also reveals others have questioned this particular ads authenticity.
