Complete set up

I'm looking for a complete set up along with telescope, mounts and accessories etc.

I'm interested in 10" to 16" Primary mirrors. Would like goto equipment but not essential. Would like motorised tracking though.

Prefer medium to high end equipment.

I live in Victoria.

For the right price, I could be pursuaded to sell my Meade 16"LX200GPS.
It hardly gets used, so maybe I would convert it into cash and buy some other toys.

Hi Martin,

An LX200 16" is absolutely the sort of scope I am after and would be a dream to own. Only problem is I see you're in Cape Town, Sth Africa, and I'm wondering if your getting the Victoria's confused. I am in Victoria, Australia, and I'm thinking shipping cost's would be prohibitive.

Kind Regards,

Ted.

Actually Ted, shipping is not as costly as you would expect.
I was surprised at the shipping costs when I imported the unit from the US.
I had it flown in and it wasn't half as expensive as I had imagined.

I have flown a few scopes around to different parts of the world and have always gotten good enough deals that it made it worthwhile and still saved some money over buying local.

How about a 14"LX200GPS then? I have 2 of the beasts and really should sell one before my missus sells me.

Me? ...a hoarder?......nah......I'm just hooked on scopes.

Anyways, good luck in your hunt.

Complete set up

I have been considering selling my mount and upgrading to an ME or the new MX. But may consider selling the whole system.
I have C14 on CI-700 mount modified with Astrometrics Skywalker. This is a very good GOTO system, you can get the details from their website or look at the Yahoo Group SkyWalker_Users. I use a ST-2000 camera with an Optec reducer that takes it down to about f5.8. This set up will put an object on the chip with any slew on the same side of the Meridian every time. Let me know if of any interest.

What sort of dollars would that setup come in at?
