C/2011 L4 (PANSTARRS) 7th July 2011

There seems to be a bit of interest in this comet. Hopefully it will put on a good show in 2013. For now, it is blazing away at Mag 19.6, drifting lazily between Scorpius and Libra.

The attached image is a track-and-stack of 35 2-minute exposures, taken with a C11 from my light polluted suburban Adelaide backyard. You can see it didn't move much in the 1 hr of the exposures.

Excellent capture Ivan.

Let's hope it puts on a good show in 2013.
