Alright gurus, does Images Plus do what RegiStar does with aligning images from different sources an image scale?

Does anyone here own it?, if so can they provide a desciption on how they use it?

Ummm..never used registar.

With imagesplus you can align scale and rotate...plus you can calibrate with darks, flats and bias frames....I doubt you could do the second part of this with registar...but I could be wrong.

Good point h0ughy. I think it does, but from what I understand Registar is the standout program for what you're talking about.

More info needed!!!

http://www.aurigaimaging.com/

but at 150 us it should be good. i am looking at by taking images with different scopes and such, even contributions to the one image from others and combining them. This program does just that automatically, and its not an image editor aparently

We may have to call the all mighty "ITCHY" to answer your question.

I just tried to combine images of different size in IP and it wouldn't let me....I thought Scale would have allowed that.??????

Did I hear my name mentioned???

Imagesplus will do a translate rotate and scale with images from different scopes. As Striker has discovered though, the images need to be the same size. This is achieved by resizing them using the Geometric-->transforms -->scale command to make the pixel dimensions the same for each frame.

This is usually not a problem if images have been taken with the same camera, but with different scopes.

Regarding Registar, I don't know much about it other than it's forte is aligning images. My understanding is that it is very good for that, but it can't match ImagesPlus for everything else.

Registar is awesome in what it does.
I've stared to use it and it works very well in aligning and stacking images.
For everything else I'd say use Images Plus.

Gee I didn't think to search the forums . Its expensive software but looking atthe test results I did at home last night, i combined every M42 image i have, and from different scopes and it automatically jus tscaled and rotated them. it was awesome. Between me and scott we should be able to put together something in a month or two of further imaging of Orion.
