Yep it was a great doco! I'm just getting getting back and brushing up on astronomy again, and as you say it's very thought provoking.
Also watch out for another 2 part doco called "Everything and Nothing", I think you would like that too!

Hi,
Yes it was good. Been on before, but deserved a rerun. I don't think it got really close to any answers, but you could see the question better.
I reckon time is subjective in many ways, biologically, relativistically (took me a long time to spell that ), gravitationally and so on.
I think it has something to do with change (best I can do), so that if there is no change AT ALL in an object or its surroundings (very loose this), can you say that time passed in its vicinity? How? Dunno.
Cheers

MMMM the slap in the face seemed a bit dodge.
If I asked somebody to have their face slapped, I dont think they would move their head as much as he did!?( close to 90 degrees) Tried it on my sister and she hardly flinched.....sure she slapped me back , but thats not the point...
Otherwise great vid!
Bartman
ps
just watched the doco and it was very interesting! thanks for the post. Still a bit confused...but i'll re-watch it and maybe it will answer some questions........

Or is the change too small to be observed by humans but nevertheless change is happening? This doco definitely made me come up with a few theories that may be silly but really made me think nonetheless, very thought provoking and it was a lot of fun to watch

I missed it, so I can't comment on this show. I can only comment on the you tube video link by saying despite all those faces he pulls in slow motion, I can't believe how "hot" he still looks. And with all that water thrown at his hair, it all came back into place beautifully, not a hair disturbed, nope... and I wish I was the one that gave him that slap on his face.. the kind of slap that signifies "I really like you" kind of a slap. I can see everyone doing this at me now..
LOL @ Bart slapping his sister.

He is so so swoon worthy! I'd give him a good ol' slap any day
I watched "What on Earth is Wrong with Gravity?" today. More swooning! It was hilarious, they were driving to the GPS headquarters and using the GPS to navigate there and they got lost Brian was smacking the silly GPS and getting all flustered
Another very informative doco, I am really enjoying the BBC Horizon series of documentaries!

How on earth did you find that link Steven?!
Crikey, miss female physicist no. 2 looks and poses like a playboy bunny . My eyes only went to one place and I'm a female myself. No.1 Amy certainly is beautiful, no doubt about that.
But come one! Who the heck did the votes for the males...
Come on Steven, even from a male perspective, doesn't the mind boggle at Brian being last compared to the other two? Especially no.2, I don't know how he made that list at all
How many on the judging panel I wonder (and how old were they, more to the point.. ).
Drop dead gorgeous pics of Brian!
Here we go... this is one of those "Brian" threads that removes any apparent intelligence I may already have by going goo goo gaa gaa. I have a brain people, I just lose it momentarily when the word "Brian" is used. Oh well... it's been a while since we've talked about Brian...

Did I hear somebody say something about Brian Cox ?

… just kidding .. !! I'll keep quiet … well, maybe …
Suzy .. Steven's havin' a go here … check out the results:
- the top two males are dead;
- the top two males comprise 94 % which means its not possible for Cox to have gotten 10% of the vote, anyway !! I reckon he's just been thrown in for looks .. (as usual).
Steven: nice try .. but we just have to face reality … no matter how much they try and fudge the results, Cox just doesn't make the grade !!
Cheers

I never noticed.
OK for a more balanced view here is an image of her brain.

(No kidding )
Evidently Brian Cox's biggest problem is being alive. Being a dead male physicist gives you more votes which probably explains as Craig pointed out, why the results don't tally to 100%.

Don't just leave it at that, Shell!
Details please...
Looks wise, that man does nothing for me.
To make the grade into that list Shell, don't forget all others competing with Brian have to be dead, asta la vista baby, kaput.

Hmmm, that just got me thinking of the perfect man...
 Brian Cox's looks,
 Carl Sagen's voice,
Travolta's walk & personality (he's very tentative you see ),
Springsteen's body incl. his famous butt, (he's too short, so I don't mean his height )
Jon Bonjovi's hair (when it was long, but I'll take either),
 Richard Branson's fortune. $$$$
Or... If I could just take Brian & Travolta, squeeze them into vials, shake them up and pour out one person, that would be sweet too.

Good on you Mel.
Seriously, if Brian googled himself recently, I'm sure all he'd see is IIS girls pining after him.

Make that two dreams, two nights in a row!
First night we were walking through really pretty rainforest together and last night I dreamt we were sitting in my room playing some strange card game and having a jolly good chat
