Saturn June 24th 2011

Hi All,

Have one RGB & 807nm data set from very early last night. I was hopping to image the region around the head of the storm. The Jetstream charts looked pretty crook but, surprisingly, the seeing was quite reasonable for my first data set. However about 10 minutes later Saturn was rippling like a waving flag, still, this data has some nice detail in it.

Damian Peach picked up on a thin brighter band in the Southern Hemisphere of my RGB data from June 23rd, I have measured it in WinJUPOS and it is at 36 degrees Sth. This band is also visible in this data from June 24th, probably the STeB.

Thanks for looking.

Regards
Trevor

More very fine data Trevor. Seeing was variable down here as well, but also a bit better than expected from jetstream predictions. Regards Ray

Thanks Ray, reckon it is important to set up and have a go, just never know when a bit of stable air might turn up.

Sorry Asi, stay strong mate. Reckon the longer the jet hangs around, the more sorted your scope and mount will become, looking forward to some top shelf results when you unleash the beast.

Thanks for your words of strength Trevor

I feel hard done by, by our mate Murphy right now the little so and so!

The night before last was my 30th attempt at setting up & hoping for the best since April 21st. I've got setting up & pulling it back down again & stowing it in the shed down to a fine art.

Anyhow, I'll hang in there & just browse the nice pics from you & others, but my times coming..

Trevor, just been catching up on some of your recent work. Saturn is still producing excellent results. Nice to see Jupiter is back too getting very good results already.
