Thumbs up STS-134 (Endeavour) chasing the ISS!

Hi all,

I've always wanted to see a double pass of the shuttle and space station together, and I had to wait until the penultimate shuttle flight to see it - but it was worth the wait! An absolutely spectacular sight at about 6:13pm today, as the two spacecraft flew over separated by less than one degree. And the clouds only cleared about 5 minutes before they passed!

I was also lucky enough to have set up the camera on the tripod, and took 3x10 second exposures which I've stacked using Startrails. I hope you like the result! I'm fairly stoked to have finally captured it .

Cheers,
Stephen

Thanks H.

Spaceweather says they docked at 6:14am EDT, so by my calculations the 3rd of my exposures was exactly 2 hrs prior to docking! I think I really was lucky to have captured this!

Cheers,
Stephen

Well done Stephen. I was disappointed as I drove home this evening looking at all that cloud to the north. Didn't even bother going outside...

Excellent Stephen. I caught a glimpse of them just before they vanished into the earth's shadow.

that's a great picture. I had almost given up hope of those clouds clearing - so it was a very welcome sight. I was just walking out of work at the time, and caught most of the approach till when they faded out.

Thanks Rob and Matt! Yes Rob, it was a bit of a one-off opportunity so it was nice to capture it.
