Best seeing ever for Saturn last night

It was really 'superb' which I consider to be better than excellent. The view thru the well-collimated f/5 8" reminded me very much of what i saw thru a 12" or 14" SCT. I watched it for like 5 hours. Anyone else do that? Now this morning i see why, nice high cirrus clouds= frozen atmosphere. also the full moon increased the atmospheric pressure and made it clear. yay!

I was out at 8.30-9.30 and it was improving. The detail was starting to come trough. At 200x it started to look like it would take more.Although the Moon was blinding.I would say it would have been spectacular from midnight with out the moon.

Yep. It was excellent after midnight.

I saw it again yesterday but seeing wasn't soo good. I would classify it as merely 'very good' after midnight and average-good before. Saturn couldn't take 158x till after about 11 in the 8"

Scopes:

Eyepieces:

All the latest...

Huygens, Herschellian, Kellner, just to name a few.

Made me laugh ....
