portable widefield astro imaging set up.

Hello

I was going through my 'observatory archives' today,I starting putting together my old Vixen GP mount and DD1 controller and MT1 motors,I found a dove tail and drilled a 3/8th hole and attached a Manfretto ball head and my 450d and 10-22 mm lens,(see picture)I had not put the DD1 on when images taken.

I was thinking about tweeking this and using in the garden and out in the bush for wide field star shots, with some SM style framing, which is very popular here.

Any advice on using this type of set up I have pictured here,or pointers.I really do not want to spend any more money on it as it gets very little use.The other option is sell it and the small 3 inch ED refractor that goes with mount and buy a 5D2.As I am sure it would get much more use.

Thanks for your Thoughts-Chris
