Registar and Win7

Hi all,

Has anyone had any troubles installing registar on a Win 7 machine? I tried the demo version but I keep getting the error bellow. Any clues as to why this pops up?

You may need to right click on the install exe and click run as administrator. It sounds like a permissions problem to me. Try this link I think it will explain everything

Yes
I think Warren is right. That particular (hidden)folder is a common place to hold user data and many installation programs seem to have trouble with it. I ran a little patch called take ownership then opened the main users folder/properties/security and changed the permissions. That fixed it for me.

Yes, as Warren mentioned run the installer as Administrator. I have it running on my Win7 machine no problem. It still hits the 2GB RAM limit though. I don't know if/when they'll release a 64bits version.

So since I have a 64-bit OS that could cause problems? I tried running it under Admin, but still came up with the same error...

Did you follow the steps in the link provided it will be the same for WIN 7 the fact of 64 bit will only mean you can only use around 3gig of ram but shouldn't effect the operation of the program. There is an email address there for support also

Not sure what happened, but it worked... weird, computer must have had a fit of sorts lol.. Only different thing I did was set the compatability mode to Windows 7. Then ran as Admin.

I have noticed with Windows sometimes you need to restart the PC a few times to for it to realise that it can work just one of the quirks of windows

Hi

There is a readme on the registar home page that should have explained everything.

In any case I just down loaded the trial version into windows 7 64 bit ultimate. Ran the program registar32.exe and followed the instructions.

The program installed and ran without bother (32 bit).

But then I have used take ownership and given myself all the necessary permissions.
