Report of helicopter crash - precursor to this morning's events in Pakistan?

At 01:30 Karachi time today, a Pakistani news service, Geo news, reported the following -

ABBOTABAD: A helicopter crashed on PMA Kakul road in the wee hours of Monday, sources said.

According to the sources, security forces cordoned off the area; meanwhile, relief activities were also kicked off soon after the incident.

A short time later this thread started up on a Pakistani Defence web site which makes
for interesting reading ...

PMA stands for Pakistani Military Academy, one of which is in Kakul Road.

Hi Narayan,

It was mainly an exercise in getting in early and Googl'ing before the search
space became "polluted" with all the web sites that would be using words like
"Abbottabad". A race against the Google crawlers.

What surprised me when I first heard the news was that Abbottabad was the hiding
place. I've passed through Abbottabad on the way up the Karakorum Highway (KKH)
and it is not that far out of the capital, Islamabad.

As you are aware, there are parts of Pakistan that are tribal and remote.
Abbottabad definitely isn't one of those places.

A quick look on Google maps showed the town has a Pakistan Military
Training Ground, a Military Hospital, a Military Library, various colleges
and a golf course. As a choice for a hiding place it was becoming more surprising.

I started searching Pakistan news services for the earliest accounts in the past
24 hours of anything happening in Abbottabad. I came across the two sentence
story that mentioned there had been a helicopter crash and even mentioned
the name of the road and the acronym PMA associated with the road.

Searching on "helicopter" and "Abbottabad" then revealed the defense social
networking forum site where the early accounts of the crash were posted.

A search on "PMA" "Abbottabad" revealed that the PMA stands for
"Pakistan Military Academy".

Whether or not there are any dots to join up, the days and months ahead may reveal.

It was announced that the crashed Helicopter actually accidentally crashed on top of the compound where Osama bin Laden was hiding.
3 choppers were to attack the compound but 1 of them lost control and crashed into the roof.
Then the Navy Seals and CIA destroyed the crashed helicopter, after killing Osama and others, causing a huge fire at the compound.

Thanks Ken,

The sixty four dollar question is what is the connection, if any, between the owners of
what has been described as the "compound" or the "mansion" where he was
hiding and the nearby Pakistan Military Academy (PMA)?

(I note the www.defence.pk site I cited is now not responding, possibly due to traffic).

I don't know Gary.

Maybe the old thought that Detectives never look in their own back yard, so it is the best place to hide

There was a Marijuana crop growing in the window boxes and gardens of the Wagga Courthouse for many years. Each harvested crop was replaced with a new crop each year

It was many years before it was noticed
Who would look for it in the Courthouse gardens.

Hi Ken,

It is certainly a possibility I have been pondering about today.
A stroke of genius, as it were.

And it may probably be the most desirable of the possibilities.

On April 29 2009, President Obama in a press conference said -

Yes and of course the Indian newspapers have been falling over themselves to point out that India has always said Pakisthan has supported terrorism, even though western media is far more circumspect about mentioning the elephant in the room
