Saturn 12 months apart

I was trawling around in my old data, and came across an image I took of Saturn about a year ago. I can't seem to find the avi so I could reprocess it. Anyway I think I have improved my technique a bit in comparing the two images . I think last years image would have been using the Vixen 102M, with 4x Powermate... approx 4000mm fl. I've had to upscale the image to get a good comparison of the rings.

Nice comparison Tony. Whilst this years Saturn is a very nice one. Last years is also very good considering the gear.

Thanks Rob... the earlier Saturn was counted as one of the best images I had taken... pales in comparison now, though I do note that even at this angle you can just make out Cassini's Division.

Nice presentation Tony, looking forward to the next few years as the rings open even further and Saturn comes ever further South.
By June 23rd 2018 the ring opening relative to the Earth will be 26 degrees with Saturn virtually straight overhead at an alt of 80 degrees.
Certainly something to look forward to.

Regards
Trevor

Thanks Trevor... something to look forward to, but isn't the world coming to an end next year?
