Talking I can drift align

Hi all,

I am EXCITED I went around to see David Hatfield one of Mackay's nicest blokes and he pointed me in the right direction for aligning my Scope on a GEM and I understand how to align it now. I am sure I will need practice until I get it completely but I have made the breakthrough. Just wait until I get some fine weather and I will be contributing some deep space and solarsystem images and I will probably inundate them with images because once I start learning something I like to really give it a good whack. So don't say I didn't warn you all

Congratulations on the break through.
Yes, the more you do it, the quicker and more proficient you become.
Looking forward to the pictures once they start rolling in.

Well done Warren,

I think half the fun is 'getting' how it all works and seeing it
in action when you drift align.
How boring and eccentric does that sound!
That's why we love what we do....

Warren,

Check out the beginners forum, I've posted the 15 steps that I take to polar align. Mario (cybereye) was able to get good alignment after following them for the first time. Easy peasy.

Thanks JJJ,Steve and H

H I tried to understand your great 15 point plan but that is going to take a bit more brain strain. I am obviously not as quick as Mario I will get it I am sure but in the meantime I found Drift alignment to be really easy once I got over the initial confusion.

Good stuff. It took my awhile for the concept to sink in to my pea-brain, but once the penny dropped, it's like riding a bike
