Hello there

Hi everybody.
I'm Marc from Noumea, New Caledonia.
I belong to ACA, Asociation Caledonienne d'Astronomie, our local astro club.
We have a good friend in Sydney, Don Whiteman, who comes here from time to time and help us to tune and clean our scopes.
I join IIS forum to share our hobby with our nearest neighbours

Cheers.

and Marc. I think you will find many of the forum members know Don, and the rest of the Bintel team very well. They are a great group of people.

Bonjour Marc and welcome.
Hope you will find some interesting information here to read and learn from, and hopefully add to.
How is the stargazing in New Caledonia?

Thank you all for your kind welcome

Liz, hmm, these last months our weather here hasn't been really helpful and many observing nights have been cancelled and photo sessions postponed
But when heaven is clement, our astronomy nights coupled with gastronomy are lot of fun.

"Special Frogs aside" :
Salut Marc. Ta gallerie astro est superbe, bravo. Tu sembles avoir un faible pour Eta de la Carene, pas un mauvais choix, y a pire

For those who missed the nice planets conjonction today, there will be another nice one tomorrow, 1 hour before sunrise. Mars and Jupiter half a degree close surrounded by the Moon, Venus and Mercure.

Cheers.

Marc, you could add value to your southern gallery with some typical objects such as Omega Centauri and Magellanic Clouds with Tarentula Nebula and 47 Tucanae, which are easy to spot and really spectacular
