Golden Whistler

Exactly four weeks ago, we were awoken by a Golden Whistler tapping on our window. He has been back every day since, and spends the greater part of his day looking at himself in one of the windows, then flying into the window (not so that he hurts himself), then flying to another one. He is a fearless bird; we can easily stand within 2 metres and he will continue his routine, which is interspersed with a variety of beautiful whistles. Prior to this, we had never seen the bird near our house.

The pics were taken with a Nikon D80 and a 18-200 mm lens, and have been lightly cropped.

Thanks Bartman (and others), I nearly always compose a shot before I even put the camera to my eye.

And the bird (which is a male) is still going strongly - every day. We have spotted the female just twice; she is relatively drab and quite like a small version of a Shrike Thrush, but she has the same melodious whistle.
