Blimey! That's a cracker of an image!
And what Ken said- that little galaxy polking through with such vibrancy- just incredible.
Thanks H!

Funny Humi I was going to make this post yesterday too but got side tracked. One of the most spectacular images Hubble has taken IMO...maybe even THE most? Wonderful mix of strangness and beauty with a real sense of remotness but all at subtle levels.

Oh yes ... All responces so far SPOT ON ... what an amazing image ... have any of you heard or seen these galaxies before this photo ???

The constant reminders of the enormity of space and the universe presents such a contrast. On one hand I think I can really get my head around the distances involved .. and on the other when the word universe is mentioned ... I really flounder trying to put a dimension on it ... And whilst I am always entertained by the great images of objects that pop up on this forum ... its this small grasp of the distances and sizes that really gathers my interest in this stuff ... its really one of the most amazing things ive seen in my life ... like we know SO MUCH about stuff thats SO FAR away ... its intangibleness flies so starkley in face of all of mans desires thus far.

Thanx for the heads up H
