Just to close this out, since no-one here had any information I turned up at the Instrument Section meeting on Saturday. The numbers on the glass are not catalogue numbers but batch numbers. You have to find the right batch number on the little bit of paper in the old ammunition box the galss is stored in to get the actual catalogue number.
The crown is BSC 518646 and the flint is EDF 653335.
I also got a nice design for an f/10 that Stefan had done about 15yrs ago and he verified on ZEMAX while I was there, but I've reduced it to f/8 for a small, low power scope.
r1=457.5, t1=12.0
r2=r3=-352.5, t2=0 (no air gap),t3=6.5
r4=-1280
