Beautiful clear night Sydney Fri and Sat?

Friday night (last night) was one of the best astro nights in months in Sydney. The seeing was excellent and it was totally clear. It is shaping up to be another beauty night tonight (Sat) at this stage.

Greg.

Wasn't it ever!!!

Friday by far had been the best for Sydney in a long time. I attended an astro viewing/star party at Randwick Girls' High on Friday night. It was the first time I'd actually seen the faintest of trace of arms in the spiral galaxy M83 IN SYDNEY! Even pinned M87 for the first time too, even with it placed over the CBD's glow.

I managed a little sketch of Eta Carina too, done through my 17.5" scope at 57X. The star Eta Carina itself is the bright reddish one.
