8" f5 GSO Newt - $150.

Bought here some months ago. The original owner's idea of very good condition - "like you see in the pictures" seemed to encompass spider webs in the tube, a broken focuser and a mirror you could grow potatos on. Also it was apperently too much trouble to include a battery pack for the fan or a finderscope.
I've fixed all the issues except the BP. Alas, even after careful cleaning the mirror is still a bit "spotty" (corrosion?).
Its certainly usable, the views are very good in fact. But I was ******-off when I got it and so we've never devolped a rapport.
I've cleaned it, given it a new GSO crayford, tightened all the loose bits and will get a finder-scope for it tomorrow.
$150+postage. Firm, as its worth more to drop it off a cliff and claim insurance (just kidding AAMI).
Thanks for looking,
Peter

Hi Andy,
Alignment, as near as I can tell, doesn't change. Its quite heavy-duty, with a smooth 'click-stop" action.
The T-Rex is, as you correctly assume, NOT part of the sale . They are made in Japan by/for Kokusai Kohki (www.kkohki.com) and are now available from A.E.C. in SA.
Merry Christmas,
Peter
