Order placed: thanks for the all the advice!

Hello all!

Just want to say a BIG THANK YOU to all who have helped me with advice and opinions over the past couple of months as I wrestled with the issue of which scope to get.
Well I have finally placed an order for a Celestron 9.25" CGEM! It is due to arrive in a couple of weeks. The clouds are, as I type, coming into Canberra even! I can't wait to get out and use it.
The CCD camera will have to wait until next year...

Anyway, thanks all! All the input was and is much appreciated!

congratulations! as you are about to find out, buying a new scope ensures that the skies will be so filled with cloud, if you could achieve the appropriate altitude, you could probably chew on them!

I bought a 10 inch dob Early this year, and the clouds seem to be magnetized to it every time I even think about going to my dark sky site.

I've doubled my chances of unwelcome precipitation as I have also put in an order for a Megrez 90 just a week ago!

Between us, we should have fully clouded out skies till the end of time.

Congrats Grant, I think you'll be very happy with your choice.

A quick check of the weather station shows a steady drop in the barometric pressure and the clouds are thickening.

Could be time to take up knitting for a while.

I remember as a kid when my older brother got a 4" SCT and my father promised him we'd keep trying until we found clear skies... we ended up in St George, QLD after starting out from Sydney!
