Mercury 26th March (very low)

Hi all,

I went looking for Mercury this evening. Finally found it when it was 2.5 degrees above the horizon. Now I have my bearings (literally!) I should be able to find it a bit higher up. It is 1000 frames from the 12" Goto Dob and the Canon EOS 550D in 640x480 video crop mode. I have not processed the image any further and the atmospheric colour dispersion is quite apparent!

nice pic. its really amazing how you captured the light being dispursed.. .imo more interesting than mercury it self in this pic

its not a great time to capture mercury at the moment.. fire up stellarium and go foward in time. I think next cycle/orbit/pass/whatever its called.. will be better as its a lot higher. venus as well when it comes back around.
