New flower animation

The second flower opened this evening.
I noticed changes to the bud this morning, and set up the camera and started photographing at 10am. One photo every 10 minutes.
Around 5pm, I changed to one photo every 3 minutes.
I wish I could share the full res video with you all, but at nearly 100mb, it's too big for Youtube really.
I've uploaded a medium side version though.

Excellent JJJ

Animations of nature are fascinating to watch. What is amazing is the amount of work that has to go into a few minutes of footage and yours is no exception.

Top stuff

No no no, there is hardly any work that goes into this. Honestly. I'm laid up, seriously atm, if I can do this, anyone can.
All you need is a camera and remote timer.
And of course a cactus that is about to flower.
It's a fun exercise and it really gives one a sense of acomplishment at the end of it all.

What type of software do you use to put it all together?

You've got me thinking now, I've got a couple of giant pumpkins growing in the vege garden. It would be interesting to do a short film of their growth.

I use Jasc Animation Shop.
oooh, a slow mo of pumpkins would be a major effort
start off small like I did, something that takes only a day, or less.

Thanks for the advice JJJ

I'll have to have a look around the farm and see what I can come up with.

Unfortunately it's starting to get quite now with Winter approaching.

Very nice work, JJJ. You've given me an idea. I should try a time lapse study of my youngest (university aged) son to see if he actually moves during the day...
