Ooh, I love this scope (Billy Boy) but too heavy for me.
Its a great scope.

Yeah, it's a nice scope alright...little lighter than mine, even though it's a slightly larger scope (aperture wise). Wonder what he's upgrading to??.

The Pro wedge will work fine with the CPC 8 won't it?

Hi Ken,

The wedge hangs my C9.25 solid as. Have a look at the celestron site and they say ' Celestron's HD Pro Wedge is designed to support our fork mounted Schmidt Cassegrain Telescopes up to 11".

Its got the recesses for the base also which makes it dead easy to fit.

You could always upgrade your 8 to a 9.25 while you're at it

Great mate! But since I haven't even picked up the 8" yet, I think an upgrade might have to wait for a while! ($1059 on E-bay), NEW! Without the tripod, but since I intend to mount it on a peir on our back deck, that's not a problem!
