AstroWeather

Hi all,
Many of you would have come across 7timer http://7timer.y234.cn/ a webpage that provides weather forecast with a more astronomical focus (seeing, transparency, cloud cover, darkness). There's now an app for that, called AstroWeather. It's just like the webpage, but in a mode that easy to use on your Idevice.

It's fairly easy to set up, just drop a needle on your location and your off. You can add as many locations as you like. The forecast is for 72 hours and I've found it more useful than other apps that might just say cloudy. A legend is available on the web page, but not on the app, which is probably it's only flaw.

Otherwise at the low price of... Free, it's a very useful app that all astronomers can benefit from.

Top find, thanks for the heads up. I've embedded 7Timer into the MAS website and its heavily used by our members. Great to have it on the iPhone and pad.

Here you go: http://7timer.y234.cn/misc/apanel_en_legend.pdf
Like I said, the lack of a built in legend is it's biggest flaw but it's fairly minor one at that. But I do forget every now and then.
Rule of thumb: the blacker/bluer the symbol the better.
Transparency 2/8... I loled

I just tried the AstroWeather on iPhone 4, but unfortunately it doesn't let me select a location. Nothing happens when I tap the map or enter a place name. Anyone else having the same problem?

There's an opaque blue circle with an arrow bottom right. Clicking that works?

Zoom in to your location, then double tap to drop a pin.
Add a name to your location then hit done.
Took me a few tries to figure it out.

Yeah same here, double tap only zooms. There doesn't seem to be a way to put a marker. Maybe it's an iOS 4.3 problem
