Tags and their purpose.
As per the title, what is the specific purpose of TAGS?

Yes, they can used for searches. But as you can already search for anything in the Title or Body of posts does a TAG add anything else?

Not particularly, it's just another way of categorising the posts - "what this thread relates to" type of thing.

They can be good for search engine indexing too.
