slinky SATURN - Jan27 1 day before opposition
Hi All, had some reasonable seeing on Friday night and snapped off a few shots of the ringed one. The first 3 shots below are from two by 2000 frame sequences, the first two the best 963 frames (one unsharp masked only and one LR deconvolution), the second the best 2175 frames. with 1/10th sec exposure and 10fps gain about 30% with brightness gamma and saturation around 60%. The last one was at 1/20th second with gain up around 50-60% - find this still injects a bit to much grain.
crepe ring is visible in most
Anyway, here they are.
cheers,

Those are superb images of Saturn Robert - you are really making that C9.25 sing.
Thanks for posting; it was a pleasure looking at them, gazing at something astronomical once more.
Cheers

Thanks Guys, I was pretty happy with 'em too - wonder why the crepe ring shows up obviously on my lappy, but not on my work desktop?

Great work. Pic 2 for mine. Crepe ring + CD just about all the way round and nice colour and banding with grain not too bad.
Well done mate. I hope we can start having a go at jupiter soon
