Floating Kryptonite

Went down to Tuggeranong lake again this morning. This time to try out the new kayak with all the weight I would take out bush and see how my arms and shoulders would feel after a bit of a distance. Rowed full length of the lake with the wind, then all the way back against the wind.

Getting in and out without touching the radioactive floating kryptonite was interesting....

Open your mouth and take a deep breath going with the wind, but keep it shut going the other way!! Splash, splutter, spew cough...

Ewww...

It's called blue-green algae. Can be toxic when it blooms explosively and dies.

Not pleasant to swim in, smell or taste....

I have heard of it before but I didn't know it was that green just the sight of it would make me steer well clear of it looks like the stuff Homer Simpson drops in the street in Springfield

Struth mate, have you thought about a trailer, looks like the yak is stacked to the brim. The smile says it all though, nothing like being on the water in a yak preparing for an adventure, I am most envious. Careful with the B/G algae, seriously not good for your health, make sure you wash it off everything. This crap spreads like wild fire apparantly. Shame to see a water way in that condition, it looks really bad.
