Heads up IOS 4.3 released

Just connected my iphone for sync and noticed there's both a new itunes and IOS 4.3 available for download. My itunes happly opted to allow both at the same time, to be on the safe side I opted not to download IOS 4.3 until the itunes update was complete. Hopefully there won't be any bugs....

The personal wifi hotspot is a non event on the 3GS, there are only Bluetooth and USB tethering options, typical apple. Might be time to jailbreak.

Yeah that was known to be the case for some time.
Apple also screwed us 3Gs owners when we went from iOS3.x to 4.x
It was advertised we would have more choices for the text-message alert sounds. Then on the day of the release.. it was for iPhone4 users only.

It is the only thing that realy ****s me about Apple.
Fair enough to have some functionality in the OS crippled if the hardware is not there to support it.
But in a lot of cases, the 3Gs has the hardware and therefore the capability.
I guess they reckon upgrading to an iPhone4 would be less attractive if the 3Gs has these things.

The 3GS is capable of wifi hotspot, it's just been nobbled by Apple.

Their marketing strategies will ultimately cost them market share, once the Android products & software are equivalent to the iphone for flexibility and preformance, the iphone will be an also ran.

I can't understand apples marketing philosophy, in this day & age it's real shoot yourself in the foot stuff.

My next smartphone is unlikely to be an iphone.

I thought that's what I was getting at in my post.

Yep totaly agree.
Apple's holier-than-thou attitude has cost them dearly in the past... will history repeat?
