Narrow band Eta Carina

Had a go at adding S11 and O111 to my already captured Ha data for Eta Carina nebula. It was approx 60-70in each for the three filters captured with QSI583wsg in 10 minute subs. Stacked with DSS and processed in photoshop.
Comments welcomed.

That's great, Allan! Got one of these cameras coming my way next week. Looking forward to the "step up".

The nebulosity looks great and sharp! Funky colours.

Yes, great data to add to the already very impressive Ha. I'd be interested in the colour assignments too.

R:G:B mapped to s2:Ha:O111 so the keyhole came out yellow in the Hubble pallette ie Ha and O3.

Yeah, not to my taste I'm afraid. I've done another reproduction and assigned the colours differently and I think this is more subtle and to my taste.

Onya, Troy - you wont regret it at all as I love it. Did you get the WSG version?

The nebulosity looks great and sharp! Funky colours.
Funky is right - se the repro below for a "better" version

This colour is assigned Ha:R S2:G and O111 to Blue

Thanks for that - its all an experiment to see what I can do. Must admit the Astronomic filters are great as they are ALL parfocal including the clear and Luminance filters so the whether using RGB or Ha:S2:O3 they are all in focus which id great for the narrowband.

Thanks David. I was going to chime in re the rotation but you are doing it different to me so I let others more knowledgeable help you out. I would have just confused the issue.

Nice data and funky colours. The keyhole scrubs up nicely in this rendition.
If your interested, Bob Franke has a very helpful page for colour mapping to get those gold and turquoise hues for the HST pallet. Here

Ooh I like that one: nice and contrasty, brooding even and shows off the detail in the nebulosity.

I like it Allan, lots of detail. The blue fringing on stars is a bit distracting though, easy to fix. Its a common NB problem.
