GSO 10" Carbon Fibre RC + FT Focuser+Extras. Absolute Last Price Drop

SALE PENDING

I have decided to rewrite the add to explain a little more about this scope and the extras included.

I have for sale a 10" Carbon Fibre GSO RC scope. The scope is about 12 months old and has seen very little use. Being Carbon fibre it is suppose to be more stable and have less expansion problems than the Aluminium Tube. This came at a price, increasing the purchase price by about $1000. I purchased the scope from Bintel Sydney for $3390.

I also have with the scope a new Feathertouch 3" focuser. This focuser is fully rotatable on a teflon bearing. It is the full deal with 10:1 fine adjustmentand fitted with a Takahashi 72 X 1mm standard thread in the front allowing connection to all major cameras very easily. It also comes with a Takahashi 2" EP adapter. The focuser and adapters cost me. $870. It also comes with the standard GSO focuser and extention tubes which also fit the FT Focuser.

Also included a 2.5 inch TSC 0X field flattener which is yet to be used. It has a couple of adapters with it and will fit in the barrel of the original focuser. Spacing required between camera and flattener is 91.5mm. This item and adapters cost me $530 and 6 months to get from Germany. It was originally ordered from APM America and supplied by their supplier in Germany. http://www.apm-telescopes.de/2.5-fie...nfo_79615.html

Also included an Orion Pro Laser collimator and collimating eye piece which makes aligning the mirrors and collimating a breeze. The secondary mirror is centre spotted for ease of collimation. Cost me $149

Also included a dimmable light box for taking flat fielding images. This was manufactured for me by EXFSO on this site and cost $170. Great light weight light box fitting the front of the scope.

Also included an Orion Flexi dew shield to keep dew off thye primary and seconadry mirror. Cost $49

Also included a right angle 8 X 50 finder scope. The scope does not come with one. $79

Also an 8" Bantinov mask extended to fit the larger opening of the 10". It works faultless on this scope.

Total cost of this gear was $5237. I am prepared to sell it for the hugely discounted price of $2500 Firm. This is now reduced below half price. As low as it will be going. I will keep it if it doesn't sell.

The reason for the sale is to fund another purchase if I can con the rest out of SWMBO.

I have included some photos which are bself explanetary except maybe the TCS flattener which is fitted to the old focuser EP holder.

This is a great scope in perfect condition and would serve someone well for years to come. It is capable of fully illuminating a full frame CCD such as a Kodak 11002M.

I would prefer pick up with all the bits it will be hard to deliver even by courier. I can meet someone part way betweenAlbury and Sydney or Albury and Melbourne as I live near Albury on the border of Vic and NSW.

Hi H, Yes it will. The 10" scope has a much bigger secondary baffle tube and with the 3" focuser it is bigger than the standard 2.7" Takahashi focuser.

You'd have to be crazy to own a STL-11000M and not get this scope, wouldn't you Doug?

It would weigh in at about 16 -17 KG but needs to be packaged up in a couple of boxes for transport at best.

I can say for certainty that in the right hands coupled with the right camera this scope will produce great images, if only I hadn't just purchased a new mount

Hi,

I've just joined this forum. Quick question. I'am a beginner and want to get in to astrophotography, so is this setup going to be good for that purpose and does it come with a tripod and everything i need to get started?

Sorry if this sounds like a stupid question.

Tommy,

It's just the OTA (optical tube assembly). You will need to purchase your own mount/tripod setup. : )

Doug,

What is the focuser travel for the FT focuser? Inches or mm will do.

Cheers,

Steve
