Amazing Field of Galaxies

Chris (Omaroo) posted a link to the PixInsight magazine which also led to an enormous image of the Galaxy NGC 7331 area.

This image at full res had me spotting hundreds of Galaxies in the FOV, and so, being a Galaxy Cluster fanatic, I went on a search.

Here is the same image (reduced in size) with every Galaxy marked.

Attached, or It might be easier to see here: http://www.iceinspace.com.au/forum/a...chmentid=89257

Image acquired with the 3.5 meter Zeiss telescope at Calar Alto Observatory.

Kev, I was sure everyone would recognise the big thing as a galaxy

It's easy Doug, start at the circled galaxy at top left, it's called 'Pegasus Galaxy cluster member number 1', then the next one is 'Pegasus Galaxy cluster member number 2', the one next to that one is 'Pegasus Galaxy cluster member number 3', and so on.

Piece of cake

WOW the universe just gets bigger and bigger for this Space Cadet, the possibilities of life and intelligent life just gets larger and larger. And I am feeling almost insignificant in size now

Thank you for sharing that amazing picture, I'm sure to have a giggle now, everytime I walk past a Gym and see guys pumping iron and hormones to get bigger......

Great link there Ken, cheers.

I remember when the Carla Alto 1.2m scope shot of M51 was featured on APOD last year, some nice work going on there it would seem!
