Sun 28th Jan

I hope those of you with Ha solar scopes saw the Sun today it had a huge prominence visible.Managed a few snaps and a short video grab before clouds set in.There were filaments running along the sun in from the prominence and other bright regions which I hope someone captured.Also live on my TV it looked like coronal rain .This is the first time I have seen this.

It's interesting to compare your image to visual observing Derek. As nice as the image is the prom and associated filament looked more impressive visually. (no criticism intended, just an observation as I was following this particular event today)

Yes I agree Tony I always have a good visual before I capture images which I do more so for cataloging purposes.I will say however that I do have a live view system which while only operating in black and white does surpass the detail through the eyepiece however it lacks that great red orange colouration.Thanks for looking
