Cone Nebula Area

This is really just a quicky image from last night which was clear (although a half moon after 11:30pm).

CDK17, Proline 16803

LRGB 60 20 10 10

The area is worth a more intensive imaging.

Yes this scope would be awesome at my dark site if I could cart it down and set it up. You can get a tripod for the PME for US$975. It really does need the dark skies though. It is a fair bit limited at my home observatory.

Yes a dilemma for sure Greg

If someone actually lived at your dark site you could get insurance and then locating it there would be a no brainer to me, with 11 night clear runs at your dark site why would you want it in your backyard?

There may be some insurer that would consider covering it even though it would be largely un-supevised - if so, it might be worth considering a relocation as it looks like your images may be suffering from light pollution gradients where it is at the moment..?
