G'day Steve, Mate, I too have been searching the net for Polar alignment - Southern (forgotten) Hemisphere. Seems that all telescopes all have the same Northern Polar scope, and the only thing we can use on that is Octans, which is bloody hard to see. In the interest of education, I hope that I am not breaking any forum rules (cause this forum rules), and provide a link to another Astronomy (Worldwide) site, with an Australian community, on which is a topic on alignment in the Southern Hemisphere. There is a bit of two way dribble, but the explanation is quite easy to follow.

Moderators, if I have done the wrong thing, I apologise. I don't want to break any rules and if I have done so, I'm sure that I will be reminded of the fact that I have. I found this link quite useful in theory though I'm yet to put it into practise. It does raise a question that I will start a new thread on, to hopefully get some answers.
Regards, Dutch
