Eta Carina LHa RGB

This image is another one I was working on during the Christmas Break. Not a lot of subs gathered and the blending is ok but not really to my total liking. I tried to emulate several other notable examples but I don't think I did it so well. No doubt another process sometime in the future will be required.

The elevation of the object during this time also contributed to a less than sharp image. I will try later in the season when it is much higher in the sky. For now though this will do.

comments and critique very welcome.

I would still be pretty happy with that Paul. I think a bit more contrast and saturation would help but fundamentally I think you have some pretty good data there.

Cheers

Very nice result, have my eye on this as we don't have anything resembling this in UK.

Very nice resolution Paul, really impressive Eta at this scale. It seems to me that the luminance layer is producing some salmon cast on the brightest parts, this is a pity since it compromise a bit the impact of this image . Just my 2c

I have some images somewhere. It has the RC on it also, so not totally hysterical. These mounts sure are big.

I've been waiting for you to drop this in here so I could reply

I reckon it's one of your best ever Paul. I have one of these new lappy's that shows every flaw, & I'd say it's one of your best in the processing stakes as well.

Well done

Thanks John. Getting the Ha blend right on this image has been tough and everytime I do Ha blending I learn just a little bit more. Thanks for the vote of confidence on the image; but just quietly I reckon my thors helmet is my best so far.

Yet another image is waiting in the wings from my Christmas break, but it needs more data acquisition yet.

That's a very nice Eta Paul. I was surprised when I read it was taken with your TSA102. It doesn't look like an image taken with a relatively small refractor. It looks more like something taken with a much larger scope.

I like the way you've contained the red so you've gotten a pleasing colour balance.

Fabulous colour contrast in the main nebula section. The gas streamers and the angry looking turmoil is well represented.

Greg.

Simply stunning Paul.

I targeted Eta as my first nebula picture and I now know the level I need to aspire to. Awesome.

I don't mind this blend at all Paul.
Gives a dramatic appearance with the contrast through the Ha, yet shows off some of the delicate wisps, and the star colours are nice and subtle.
